Springfield (population 60,608) is an American city situated in Ohio state. Springfield City serves as the county seat of Clark County. Situated within the southwestern region of the state, the city of Springfield is 30 minutes northeast of Dayton and an hour west of the state capital, Columbus. During the year 1801, James Demint established the community of Springfield. The paved rail-trail is roughly eighty miles long extending south from Springfield's Buck Creek Scenic Trailhead all the way to Newtown, Ohio. Other excellent trails include the Buchhorn Trail and the Lakeview Trail.
